ABOUT THE ARTIST
Born in Wilkes-Barre, PA, my career began in Fairfax County Public Schools, VA after receiving a B.S. in Art Education from Kutztown University. Residing near Washington D.C. allowed for many evening workshops exclusive to teachers from the vast collections of art among its numerous museums. The experience informed me not only as an educator but also as an artist. Having time to study from master artworks, in a quiet museum after hours, enriched me greatly.
Eventually, I would return to PA to teach art at the secondary level. Career highlights include curriculum development, presenting at both State and National Art Education Conferences and receiving a full scholarship to attend Pennsylvania Governor’s Institute for Arts Educators.

With a strong foundation in a diverse application of media, my primary focus is painting. Multiple layers of color are applied to each work that slowly become more refined, revealing a realism that fuels my motivation to return to the easel with excitement each day. I enjoy singular objects, settings and subjects that incorporate detail, color and the effects that light has on their forms.
Creating original art continually presents new challenges with problems to work through. Satisfaction comes with never knowing the outcome but always believing a solution will arrive. Now a full time artist, I continue to immerse myself in all aspects of visual art: aesthetics, criticism, art history, and production. The more I understand, the more I seem to question. It is my goal as an artist to display this progression of knowledge throughout my career.
